If we exist in a 3D-brane and all matter and energy is connected to it as theorized in Mtheory. Then isnt it plausible that all matter and enegry interacts?

...the universe is not that complicated and fully compatible with a simple ontology of "atoms and the void." If the simplest ideas work, why introduce anything more complicated? Victor J. Stenger Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawaii

I agree with you completely and think simplest works best. I think DU is as simple as you can get. All I am exploring is what is the true nature of the void? Void as a distributed unconscious data current. H0riz0n 01:06, 2 May 2006 (PDT)

Since all matter and energy (extept gravitons and KK etc..) is tied to the D3brane could the branes conduct, share, distribute strings information from one string to another or the the whole?

Various string types are transformed between each other by their interaction with branes. Type I strings with ends have their ends tied to a brane. Closed strings are Heterotic strings E_8xE_8 and SO(32), which respectively obey T and S duality. These two may be entangled with each other in a dyon theory. Type SO(32) strings at low energy become Type IIA strings and heterotic strings become Type IIB strings, orientable and nonorientable respectively. A closed string, which contains the graviton, imparts is gravitational energy to a 3D-brane at low energy, which we see as gravity waves etc.

The strings in general exist in the 11 dimensional bulk, the bulk having no physics of themselves, but as 11-d supergravity define the dynamics in 10 dimensions down to 1. Closed strings are free, in that they are not tied to branes, but they do interact with them, where at low energy they convert to typeII string plus modes on a 3D-brane.

I can't in the limited time go into great detail here. It is clear that you should read Polchinski's books or those of Greene Schwartz and Witten to get some idea of how string theory works. Polchinski's book illustrates M-theory, while the GSW books are pre-M theory. In many ways the basic ideas are fairly simple, simple if you are familiar with holomorphic forms in complex hyper Kahler spaces and the like. It goes quickly into algebraic geometry, and something like Griffin's book can illustrate the math.

As for black hole singularities, they are singularities classically. Quantum mechanically singularities are systems involving strings and 3D-branes and their dual 7D-branes.

It might be worth noting that I think there is an underlying structure to string theory. It involves lattice structures, in particular /\_{16} and /\_{24} (the Leech lattice) and error correction codes. The error correction codes permit the preservation of quantum information through the chaos of quantum gravity fluctuations down to a scale of about 1.5 times the Planck length. String theories are valid to about 5 times L_p. I have been able to get heterotic and 26 dimensional strings out of this. So strings and D-branes may be emergent from this. BTW current string theories give about 10^{300} possible universe types. If I am right this mushrooms to 2^{169884}.

As for what lays between 1.5 L_p and L_p is anyone's guess. It may be the entirely new structures exist there that we don't know about. At L_p complete chaos rules --- physics likely comes to a complete end where no structure exists. There might be a sort of onion skin of structures that asymptotically pile up to L_p. This might involve Tegmark's ideas. It is tempting to call this a stairway to God, but frankly since chaos ultimately rules I prefer to see this as a stairway to C'thulhu. (Email: Lawrence B. Its great to see that science does support the exchange of information. But surely their are levels of information exchange that is currently un recognized. Look at Atoms they have been postulated for 3000 years but only relatively recently have they been proven to exist. H0riz0n

Susskind and company have proposed that strings are composed of more fundamental objects that they called Partons. ( D0 Branes). So a string might be viewed as a collective excitation of these structures. Here's the link.

Could partons be DU current? H0riz0n
